#BrickandMortar – Cocoalatte, A Home Away From Home – By Zachary Rosvelti
There is no better feeling on a cold and blustery winter day, then walking into a warm and cozy cafe where the aromatic smell transports and allows you to “take a break from it all”. That is what best describes this family run cafe, the well-known Cocoalatte. This quaint cafe offers a wide variety of hot drinks, delectable desserts, breakfasts, and lunches.
Enrique Angulo and his wife Cristina Da Silva, owners of Cocoalatte, have been able to create a unique lounging/dining experience while providing a variety of fresh options for their customers. Cocoalatte has a friendly atmosphere and is a cafe that is suitable not only for a quick Fair Trade coffee, but also a scrumptious homemade sandwich, soup, wrap or choices from their amazing menu with continuously changing feature dishes. Both Enrique and Cristina maintain a strong connection with their clients and make sure everyone has a pleasurable experience. Cocoalatte has become very popular within the St. Clair West, Wychwood Heights, Hillcrest Village, Cedarvale, Forest Hill and GTA communities. When asked about Cocoalatte’s success, Enrique had nobody but the community to thank, “Cocoalatte worked with what the community wanted, it reflects what they offer.” he further added “If it was not for the community we would not be here, giving is receiving.”
This strong connection with the clients is what puts Cocoalatte above the rest. Enrique and Cristina’s commitment to keeping people of the community happy has not gone unnoticed and its this commitment that keeps customers coming back for more.
As I walk back out into the bitter cold, I smile and think to myself that this gem known as Cocoalatte is truly “a home away from home”!
