Four Great New Businesses in Fairbank Village!
Variety in The Village
Toronto, ON – Four new businesses have arrived in the thriving Fairbank Village area. Torontonians are invited to taste authentic jerk chicken at the new Jamaican take-out eatery, The 6IX, explore the colorful Black Diamond Gallery & Business Centre, search for unique treasures at the Hidden Gem Thrift Shop, and consider taking Montessori piano lessons for all ages at the prestigious Gifted Minds.
Misha’s second Jamaican eatery, The 6IX, located at 2344 Dufferin Street just south of Eglinton Avenue West, offers classic Jamaican cuisine. There are daily specials offering all kinds of Jamaican-style chicken; jerk, fried & BBQ, along with rice, peas, coleslaw and more!
They also offer other dishes to satisfy your Jamaican cuisine cravings. They boast more creativity on standard Jamaican dishes and offer a wider variety than other Jamaican take-out eateries.
Also new to Fairbank Village, Black Diamond Gallery & Business Centre offers Torontonians a wide range of services from custom design framing to watch and jewelry repair. Located at 1944 Eglinton Avenue West, their storefront is filled with artifacts and art pieces for sale.
They also sell jewelry, brand name watches and grandfather clocks among other unique and eclectic items. In the back of their establishment there is a conference room where they use the space for various meetings including monthly Entrepreneurship Workshops to help prospective business owners receive funding and start their businesses.
The Hidden Gem Thrift Shop, located at 1860 Eglinton Avenue West, offers new and used items at competitive prices. Jamileh believed the Fairbank Village area needed a local thrift store so she opened the Hidden Gem to provide quality items with low pricing to the Fairbank community.
In her shop, you can find brand name, premium quality second-hand items that range from clothing, home appliances, dishware, toys, and lots more!
Opening soon, Gifted Minds Montessori & Piano is encouraging Torontonians of all ages to try the Montessori method of education, specifically for piano lessons.
Sarah opened this business for her love of children and her interest in education for all ages. She began learning piano at the age of 5 and has 20 years of experience as a teacher in Canada. She became inspired by the Montessori philosophy of teaching in that all people develop and learn differently. Her dream is to establish a Montessori music school. Gifted Minds Montessori & Piano is located at 1916 Eglinton Avenue West and will be opening in early August 2018.
These new businesses reflect an increasingly diverse and growing community within the Fairbank Village area. Despite challenges brought during the LRT construction along Eglinton Avenue
