GoGo Muscle Training

The Full Body Workout

I have to admit I was a bit skeptical. EMS (Electric Muscle Stimulation) that delivers a full body workout in twenty minutes; one that is equivalent to a 90 minute workout, burning 1,000 calories for up to 48 hours after your workout. Seemed too good to be true, so I had to try it for myself. I met with Clara, Mani and Ali at GoGo Muscle Training, Located at 70 Yorkville Ave.  Guess what? They do just that and more.

The flagship store looks like a high-end spa. The reception area is chic and immaculate, the locker rooms equipped with showers and all the amenities you would need to provide a luxurious experience.

All suited up and getting ready to burn those calories!

The workout area is minimal and aesthetically pleasing; the EMS suits hang very much like wetsuits in a surf shop. The equipment is minimal as you are working against your own body, the resistance created by the circuits themselves. This is a one-stop shop. GoGo Muscle Training provides clients with sanitary workout wear and the EMS suit itself, making it so easy to pop in at a moment’s notice to get your high-end workout in.

Ali Mirkhan was recovering from a soccer injury. His physiotherapist was using EMS to help in his rehabilitation. After a couple of sessions, his therapist commented on how well Ali was progressing having done the supplemental exercises at home. Ali wasn’t doing his exercises at home; this is when he realised that the EMS must be triggering muscle conditioning hours and even days after treatment. Ali stumbled upon something that could change fitness altogether. EMS has been used in Europe to train elite athletes and now Ali wants to bring it to the broader masses.

Ali partnered with Mani Khajehnouri, a software designer/architect who has a passion for fitness. Mani is responsible for all the cutting edge software of the equipment, wireless technology being one. In his basement, he and Ali spent months perfecting their EMS program.

Once they felt it was ready, they opened a pop-up shop in the downtown core to showcase to the public. People came in to try their programs and were amazed by the quality of the results and at the speed that they were seeing results. From there, GoGo Muscle Training was born.

Clara and staff are certified EMS Fitness experts facilitating the entire workout, so there is no need to worry about incorrect form or equipment use.

A high-intensity, customised workout

The routine and intensity of the program is tailor-made for each individual, and designed for all ages and fitness levels. Constant instruction and support drastically reduces injury and greatly increases high-level productivity.

Firsthand, I can tell you that I am very impressed. As promised, I am feeling results even two days post-workout. The professionalism, high-level facility and fantastic, personalised workout will have me coming back for more.
