Composer, conductor and multi-instrumentalist, DAVID AMRAM makes his Wychwood Barns debut

TORONTO, May 7, 2012 – Music in the Barns, in partnership with VIVA ARTS, is proud to present an event series featuring music legend, David Amram, a rare opportunity for Toronto musicians and music lovers alike.

The David Amram Residency Week kicks off on Sunday May 20th with “Classical for Kids!” featuring David Amram in the final concert of the Music in the Barns Children’s Series. Presented by Theatre Direct’s Sunday Family Series, Music in the Barn’s Children’s Series is an ongoing event designed to keep your young ones inspired and entertained! Tickets for the event are available on a first come first serve basis. Come early to avoid disappointment.

On Wednesday, the David Amram Residency Week continues at the Wychwood Barns with two special workshops. The master musician and recipient of six honorary Doctorates will share his personal tips on finding your own musical voice and being a successful collaborator. The workshops are part of the Music in the Barns professional development series, now in its third year, with previous guests including Burton Kaplan, Master Pedagogue, and Manhattan School of Music Teacher
