IMAGINE FINDING A CURE – OPERATION SWEAT at Spynga TORONTO + THORNHILL February 10, 2013
Imagine A Cure for Leukemia is committed to finding a cure. Since 2006 this not for profit organization has raised over $800,000 which has benefited leading edge Leukemia Research. On Sunday February 10, 2013 Imagine A Cure for Leukemia is teaming up with Spynga The Yoga and Cycling Studio to participate in operation sweat for a cure by hosting a 3 hour SpyngaFide Marathon at their two studio locations in Toronto and Thornhill. It will be a three hour rotation of cycling, power yoga & circuit class. All net proceeds from this event will benefit Leukemia Research. The mandate of the event is to not only raise money for leukemia research, but also to raise awareness of the disease. “It’s not necessarily a popular disease in the cancer spectrum, but every 4 minutes someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer, ” says Nara Abrams, founder & director of Imagine A Cure for Leukemia.” If you can imagine a cure, then you will join us.” “We are thrilled to be part of this wonderful charity initiative and that we have to opportunity to raise money to help find a cure through a powerful and joyous fitness experience” says Sari Nisker-Fox, co-owner of Spynga. “Participants are going to sweat with our warrior team for a GREAT cause and it’s double the fun and funds with a marathon at each of our locations.” says Casey Soer, co-owner of Spynga. We hope to have 110 participants in total. We will be raising money from registration fees and individual donations. Our fundraising Goal is donate $200,000 by the end of 2013, which will make our cumulative donation a Million dollars since 2006-this event will most definitely help us meet our goal” says Abrams.
