Mt. Pleasant ~ Harvest Fair 2013

The day could not have been any better.  Clear blue skies, warm sun and a nice breeze, perfect for a stroll down Mt. Pleasant Road for the 2013 Harvest Fair.

Each year the Mt.Pleasant Business Improvement Association holds this event to celebrate Community and the Harvest!  Participating businesses get into the spirit with a variety of planned events taking place along Mt. Pleasant Road between Eglinton Avenue E and Davisville.  From Pumpkin Carving to a Tart Throw Down spirit’s were high and once again, the sidewalks were crowded with people, all engaged in this wonderful display of community spirit by Local Business Owners and Volunteers.

From Mables Fables Bookstore holding an Outdoor music Concert featuring SHOMO and the MONKEY BUNCH to a fantastic Petting Zoo, which was well attended a even had a visit from the World Wildlife Fund Panda.  The children loved interacting with the animals and parents were loving the whole experience, picture perfect moments!

Pimenton Spanish & Mediterranean prepared their renowned Paella and Florentia Restaurant prepared Fresh Porchetta (roasted pig) on Focaccia bread, sliced and prepared on the moment.  Nothing but greatness!  So many amazing tastes along Mt. Pleasant Boulevard to experience, anytime of the year!

The community was well represented with Councillor Josh Matlow, Metro Linx, Environmental Defence Outreach Team, SERRA (South Eglinton Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Association) and Children’s International Summer Villages and of course the Mount Pleasant Village BIA building awareness and showing tremendous support.

With the kids in hand and Dog, there was no shortage of activities for the whole time. As we walked away to leave, we await next years Harvest Fair.  Congratulations to all for putting on such a great event. ~ VL
