No Strings Theatre Presents A Fundraising Concert Celebrating our 10th Anniversary Season on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Artscape Wychwood Barns, at 5:30 pm.

The concert will feature Denise Williams and her cast of outstanding performers from Toronto’s Music Theatre, Opera, and Jazz stages

No Strings Theatre Presents their 10th Anniversary Fundraising Concert, a night of music, food and fun on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Artscape Wychwood Barns (601 Christie St) at 5:30 pm.

No Strings Theatre invites you to join us as we celebrate our 10th anniversary. This star- studded evening of music includes opera, music theatre, jazz and R&B. Food and wine will be provided and the concert will be followed by a dynamic after party with the Yuka Funk Band.

The evening will feature Denise Williams (Operatic Soprano), Gary Beals (1st runner up of the first season of Canadian Idol), Lawerence Cotton (Opera singer and original cast member of the Hal Prince revival of Show Boat and Phantom of The Opera), Susan Cuthbert (Best known for her starring role as Christine Daae in the original Canadian production of Phantom of the Opera), Nicole Brooks (Creator and Composer of Obeah Opera) and Singer-Songwriters Quisha Wint (known for her album, My Journey) & Shaina Sammone (known for her single, Because I Love You).

The pianist for the evening will be William Shookhoff (Associate Conductor of the inaugural Canadian production of Les Miserables and of the Canadian Tour and Toronto productions of Phantom of The Opera). The night will also include performances by students and alumni of No Strings Theatre.

Influenced by both classic (James Brown, The Meters) and modern (Soulive, Sharon Jones), the six piece band Yuka, plays hypnotic dance grooves underneath slick, lyrical horn lines in a throwback Motown R&B style. Join Yuka as they continue with their quest to bring stellar instrumental music back to the forefront.

Tickets are, Adults: $50, Students/Under-employed: $25, Children Under 10: Free Yuka Funk Band only, $15 in advance or $20 at the door.
