Ossington chefs host Toronto’s longest communal table September 22 at Table d’Oz

Toronto has cemented itself as a foodies’ haven with Ossington Avenue at its core. No other neighbourhood matches the strip’s sheer span of innovative and award winning restaurants. Saturday September 22 from 2-8pm a fantastic collection of the area’s top chefs will come together to transform the lot at 109 Ossington Avenue into Table d’OZ.

From Toronto institutions like the Lakeview, to 2012 newcomers The Saint and The Grove – just named the number one new restaurant in Canada by Maclean’s magazine – local eateries are thrilled to be joining forces to serve up sample signature bites at Table d’OZ.

The Painted Lady will be dishing out signature pulled pork sliders with a shot on the side and Yours Truly will offer Salt Cod inari, just to name a few of the delicious eats that will be available. Amaya Express, Boehmer, BQM and Hawker Bar are among the many others that will be showing off house favourites at Table d’OZ street food festival.
Food and drink pairings will range in price from $2 – $8 with all proceeds to be matched in a charitable donation to The Stop.

The Stop works to increase access to food in a manner that maintains dignity, builds health and community and challenges inequality. From its origins as one of Canada’s first food banks, The Stop has blossomed into a thriving community hub where neighbours participate in a broad range of programs that provide healthy food, as well as foster social connections, build food skills and promote engagement in civic issues. Among the busy initiatives are community kitchens and gardens, cooking classes, drop-in meals, peri-natal support, a food bank, outdoor bake ovens, food systems education programs, food markets and community advocacy. For more information about our work, please visit www.thestop.org.

Eat all that you can while mingling with friends and local foodies at the over 100-foot-long communal table while listening to the likes of Grasshopper Records spinning vinyl. With 109OZ’s warehouse space at the ready, the public is invited to enjoy all that Table d’OZ has to offer come rain or shine.
