Wychwood Volunteer Ice Rink Needs Volunteers

The St. Clair West Community is so lucky to have the space and place for a local Community Ice Rink located at Artscape Wychwood Barns. In-order to make this happen, they do need volunteers, 4 or 5 would be great. Below is a description of the position and they could really use the help. If interested, please have a look at their video below and connect with them through the Facebook Link provided.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The roll of a Rink volunteer is quite simple. They will be assigned to a team for an evening. The team of three volunteers will flood on their designated night of the week during the skating season. (weather permitting)

The entire process takes 90 minutes. The rink must be shoveled clean. The shovels are supplied by the city of Toronto. The nets pushed off the rink surface and the hose cart is retrieved from the Parks & Rec room in Barn 3. The hoses are connected the flooding begins. One person directs the water . The other two team members manage the hose. (keep it orderly and out of the way of the flooder) Once the flooding is complete then the hoses are drained, hung on the cart and returned to the Parks & Rec room.

We have experienced volunteers for the new volunteers to shadow a few times to get the hang of it. We also have print outs and a Facebook page.
